Why Are My Charts Not Updating in MT5?

If your charts are not updating in MT5, here are several steps to troubleshoot:

  • Check Market Status: Ensure the market is open. Charts will not update if the market is closed for the instrument you are viewing.

  • Refresh Charts: Right-click on the chart and select “Refresh.” This action forces the chart to reload data.

  • Check Symbol Settings: Make sure the symbol is enabled in the Market Watch window. If not visible, right-click in the Market Watch, select "Symbols," and enable the symbol you want.

  • Internet Connection: Verify that your internet connection is stable. Disconnects can prevent charts from updating.

  • Data Settings: In the “Tools” menu, select “Options” and go to the “Charts” tab. Ensure that “Enable one-click trading” is unchecked and “Show period separators” is selected. Adjust other chart settings as needed.
